Mr Anamul Hoque

I am Habibur Rahman Johir, a culinary artist by passion and profession, presently serving as the country’s first-ever Bangladeshi national Executive Chef at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka, a luxury 5-star hotel located in the heart of Dhaka.

Born and brought up in Bhola, in riverine southern Bangladesh, I have over 20 years of experience across a wide range of culinary disciplines including:

  • Creative Food Plating

  • Menu Planning & Engineering

  • HACCP Management

  • Large Banquet Operations

  • Kitchen Layout Designing

  • Cost Control & Inventory Management

  • Customer Service

Being a wholehearted hotelier and a lover of good food from a young age, I dared to challenge myself in dynamic environments early in my career. I moved to the fast-growing and glamorous Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where my culinary journey expanded in scope and prestige.

Before that, I completed my Bachelor of Social Science (B.S.S) from National University, Bangladesh, followed by a full course in Food & Beverage Production from the National Hotel & Tourism Training Institute (NHTTI), one of the region’s most reputable culinary schools.

My professional journey began at Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View, under the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, in July 2007. Soon after, I relocated to Dubai, where I worked in renowned restaurants and hotel brands such as:

  • Ronda Locatelli

  • Rostang – The French Brasserie

  • Seafire Steakhouse and Bar

  • Atlantis The Palm, Dubai

During this journey across different locations and timelines, I have had the honor of collaborating with legendary culinary artists including:

  • Michelin Star Chef Michel Rostang

  • Chef Giorgio Locatelli

  • MasterChef Mr. Nazim Khan (CEC)

  • Ms. Kishwar Chowdhury – 3rd Prize Winner, MasterChef Australia 2021

I have had the privilege of serving nine heads of state, including Presidents from Switzerland, India, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka, as well as global organizations such as FIFA, OIC, and the World Bank, all during their stays at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka.

Notable Achievements:

  • Represented Bangladesh at the World Halal Summit, Istanbul, Turkey (2018)

  • Conducted a successful Bangladeshi Food Festival, Singapore (2019)

  • Winner of Emirates Culinary Bronze Award

  • Honored as “Legend of the Quarter”, August 2014 at Atlantis The Palm, Dubai

In addition to my professional roles, I have actively worked for the betterment of the culinary community. I am a co-founder and currently President of the Chef’s Federation of Bangladesh (founded in 2020), which now boasts over 26,000 members – Bangladeshi chefs working around the world.

Further affiliations include:

  • Country Representative, World Platform of Islamic Countries Culinary Societies

  • President, Bangladesh Chapter of the World Federation of the Restaurant Sports (WFRS)

  • International Culinary Jury Member – I have recently served at world-class culinary competitions and conferences in Lebanon and Jakarta, judging among global chefs and hoteliers.

Outside of my professional life, I am a dedicated family man – father to a 7-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son, and husband to my loving wife. I enjoy traveling, engaging in sports, and lead an amateur cricket team of chefs, participating in various tournaments.
